Brief Description SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH
Detailed Description 11:18 AM EDT Sunday 23 June 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: Drummondville - Bois-Francs Rain, at times heavy, is expected. Rainfall giving 50 to 70 millimetres is expected today over Southern and Central Quebec. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Watches 2:37 PM EDT Sunday 23 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Drummondville - Bois-Francs This afternoon and evening, conditions will be favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Water-related activities may be unsafe due to violent and sudden gusts of wind over bodies of water. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
