Brief Description SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Detailed Description 1:10 PM EDT Friday 9 August 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: Pickering - Oshawa - Southern Durham Region Locally heavy rain continues this afternoon. Hazards: Rain at times heavy. Rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 mm, locally higher amounts are still possible. Timing: Coming to an end later this afternoon. Discussion: A low pressure system will allow for heavy rainfall over parts of the Golden Horseshoe this afternoon. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office.
