| Detailed Description | 8:19 PM MDT Tuesday 11 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: M.D. of Provost near Czar Metiskow and Cadogan M.D. of Wainwright near Edgerton and Koroluk Landslide Flagstaff Co. near Killam and Sedgewick M.D. of Provost near Provost and Hayter Co. of Vermilion River near Vermilion Flagstaff Co. near Alliance and Bellshill Lake Co. of Two Hills near Myrnam and Derwent Co. of Two Hills near Two Hills and Brosseau City of Lloydminster M.D. of Wainwright near Wainwright Co. of Vermilion River near Kitscoty and Marwayne Co. of Minburn near Innisfree Lavoy and Ranfurly Beaver Co. near Viking and Kinsella M.D. of Provost near Hughenden Amisk and Kessler Co. of Vermilion River near Dewberry and Clandonald Co. of Minburn near Minburn and Mannville M.D. of Wainwright near Chauvin Dillberry Lake and Roros Co. of Vermilion River near Tulliby Lake M.D. of Wainwright near Irma Flagstaff Co. near Lougheed and Hardisty Co. of Vermilion River near Islay and McNabb Sanctuary Co. of Vermilion River near Paradise Valley At 8:18 PM MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. This line of severe thunderstorms stretches across much of east-central Alberta and is moving to the east at 60 km/h. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Watches 8:01 PM MDT Tuesday 11 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Lloydminster - Wainwright - Vermilion - Provost Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail. Severe thunderstorms will continue this evening. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
