| Detailed Description | 4:50 AM ADT Tuesday 9 July 2024 Heat Warning in effect for: Kings County P.E.I. Humidex values reaching 37 are expected. A period of very warm and humid weather is expected. Time span: Today. Maximum temperature Tuesday: 29 degrees Celsius (Humidex 37). Location: Prince Edward Island. Remarks: Cooler conditions can be expected along parts of the coast. Extreme heat can affect everyone?s health. Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions. Limit direct sun exposure. Shade yourself by wearing a wide-brimmed, breathable hat and/or an umbrella. Watch for early signs of heat illness (feeling unwell, fatigue, thirst, headache) as these can rapidly evolve into life-threatening emergencies. Move to a cooler environment immediately, such as a shaded or air-conditioned space. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
