Detailed Description The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Virginia. Roanoke (Staunton) River at Randolph affecting Charlotte and Halifax Counties. . The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Virginia. Dan River at South Boston affecting Halifax County. . The Flood Warning is cancelled for the following rivers in Virginia. North Carolina. Dan River at Paces affecting Halifax County. Dan River at the sewage treatment plant near Danville affecting Pittsylvania, Caswell, City of Danville and Rockingham independent cities. For the Roanoke River. including Roanoke, Sandy Level, Altavista, Brookneal, Randolph. Minor flooding is forecast. For the Dan River. including Wentworth, the sewage treatment plant near Danville, Paces, South Boston. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Dan River at South Boston. * WHEN. From this evening to Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS. At 23.0 feet, Water approaches Highway 501 between Route 58 and the Dan River. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 2:00 PM EDT Friday the stage was 20.7 feet and rising. - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening to a crest of 23.4 feet early Saturday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet. - Flood History.
