Brief Description SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH
Detailed Description 10:05 AM EDT Tuesday 25 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Windsor - Leamington - Essex County At 10:05 AM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts. This line of severe thunderstorms is located from Lakeshore to 50 kilometres southwest of Colchester, moving east at 55 km/h. Hazard: Up to 90 km/h wind gusts. Locations impacted include: Point Pelee National Park and Pelee Island. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Locally heavy rain is also possible. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
