8:55 AM EDT Tuesday 16 July 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Burlington - Oakville At 8:54 AM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts and heavy rain. This line of severe thunderstorms is located from Bronte to West Brampton, moving northeast at 80 km/h. Hazard: Strong wind gusts and rainfall amounts up to 30 mm. Locations impacted include: Brampton, Oakville and Mississauga. This thunderstorm is weakening. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Avoid driving through water on roads.
