Brief Description Snow Squall Watch
Detailed Description Snow squalls producing localized areas of blizzard-like conditions are expected. Further snowfall: locally up to 20 cm in snow squalls. Maximum wind gusts: west to southwesterly 50 km/h, except 70 along parts of the coast this morning. Locations: western Newfoundland from Channel-Port aux Basques to Gros Morne, and Deer Lake - Humber Valley. Time span: ending tonight. ### Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
