| Detailed Description | FFWRNK The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. Southeastern Henry County in south central Virginia. The City of Martinsville in south central Virginia. * Until 1115 PM EDT Sunday. * At 501 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Martinsville. Ridgeway. Villa Heights. Horse Pasture. Chatmoss. Collinsville. Laurel Park. This includes the following locations. The Martinsville Speedway and Martinsville Airport. This includes the following streams and drainages. Beaver Creek, Jordan Creek, Marrowbone Creek, Crooked Creek, Little Marrowbone Creek, Hairston Branch, Leatherwood Creek and Horse Pasture Creek. |
