Brief Description SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Detailed Description 4:43 AM MDT Wednesday 28 August 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: M.D. of Bighorn near Canmore Exshaw and Ghost Lake Heavy precipitation is expected to continue today. Precipitation will mainly fall as rain over Canmore and Kananaskis Village, with upwards of 40 mm expected by Wednesday afternoon. Over higher elevations, such as Highwood Pass and sections of Highway 40, precipitation will fall as snow. Amounts of 10 to 15 cm are possible at elevations above 1600 metres. If travelling in Kananaskis, be prepared for varied and challenging weather conditions. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
