9:45 PM ADT Friday 2 August 2024 Heat Warning in effect for: Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick Humidex values reaching 36 are expected. Very warm and humid conditions continue. Time span: Saturday, continuing through Sunday for the southern half of New Brunswick. Maximum daytime temperatures: 28 to 30 degrees Celsius (Humidex 36 to 38), except cooler along parts of the coast. Minimum overnight temperatures: 20 degrees Celsius. Locations: New Brunswick, except for the Fundy Coast. Remarks: A combination of very warm temperatures and elevated humidity will create high humidex values over the next several days. Temperatures are forecast to turn cooler over northwestern counties Saturday night and over remaining regions Sunday night. Check several times a day on older family, friends and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water. Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
