| Detailed Description | 9:54 PM ADT Thursday 5 September 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: Īles-de-la-Madeleine Significant rain and wind is expected. Total rainfall: 30 to 50 mm. Locally higher amounts possible. Peak gusts: possibly higher than 80 km/h Locations: Īles-de-la-Madeleine. Time span: Saturday afternoon through Sunday. Similar storms in the past: - hazardous driving conditions - delays and cancellations of ferry services Remarks: An area of low pressure containing tropical moisture may bring significant rainfall to the area this weekend. Rainfall rates could exceed 20 mm per hour at times. In addition to the rain, gusty winds Saturday night into Sunday could lead to scattered utility outages and transportation delays.
