Brief Description Snow Squall Warning
Detailed Description Lake effect snow squalls are expected to develop this afternoon. Hazards: Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 30 to 50 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 3 to 5 cm per hour. Reduced visibility at times in heavy snow and local blowing snow. Timing: This afternoon into Tuesday afternoon. Discussion: Snow squalls are expected to develop off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay beginning this afternoon. Local snowfall amounts of 30 to 50 cm are likely, with higher amounts possible if snow squalls become stationary over one area. The snow squall activity will shift south of the region Tuesday afternoon. ### Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
