Brief Description Flood Watch
Detailed Description * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. Portions of south central and southeast Texas, including the following areas, in south central Texas, Coastal Jackson and Inland Jackson. In southeast Texas, Brazoria Islands, Coastal Brazoria, Coastal Matagorda, Inland Brazoria, Inland Matagorda, Matagorda Islands and Wharton. * WHEN. From Thursday morning through Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Periods of locally heavy rain tonight will prime the ground for an additional round of potentially strong storms and heavy rain Thursday night and Friday. In total, between tonight and Friday afternoon, look for 3-6 inches of rain in and near the watch area. Very localized higher amounts up to around 9 inches may be possible where any training heavier rains occur. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
