| Detailed Description | * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. Portions of Central and South Central Kansas, including the following counties, in Central Kansas, Chase and Marion. In South Central Kansas, Butler, Harvey, Kingman and Sedgwick. * WHEN. Until 330 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 723 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to training rain showers and thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Wichita, Park City, Valley Center, Goddard, Maize, Cheney, Colwich, Peabody, Garden Plain, Whitewater, Kechi, Potwin, Walton, Elbing, Burns, Murdock, Lake Afton and Wonsevu. |
