Brief Description High Wind Watch
Detailed Description * WHAT. Northwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph possible. * WHERE. Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, northwest and west central Kansas, and southwest Nebraska. * WHEN. From late Monday night through late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS. Dangerous travel conditions, especially on routes that run from west to east, such as Interstate 70, Highway 36 and Highway 40, where cross winds will be strongest. High winds may also move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. Strong northerly winds will develop in response to a deepening low pressure system late Monday night into Tuesday. The strongest winds with this system are expected to occur Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. Blowing snow is forecast across western portions of the area resulting in significant reductions in visibility.
