| Detailed Description | The Flood Warning continues for the following river and locations in Indiana. Illinois. Wabash River at Vincennes, Clinton, Covington, Riverton, Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site, Terre Haute, Lafayette, Montezuma, and Mount Carmel. .Extensive lowland flooding continues along the length of the Wabash River, with significant flooding on the lower Wabash at Mount Carmel. The crest on the Wabash Wednesday evening was at Hutsonville and is expected to reach Riverton and Vincennes by Thursday evening, and Mount Carmel Sunday evening. Forecast rainfall through Thursday night of less than half an inch should not raise crests, but may slow the fall. * WHAT. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Wabash River at Montezuma. * WHEN. Until Monday evening. * IMPACTS. At 20.0 feet, Park in southern Montezuma begins to flood. Higher bottomlands begin to flood. Water backs up most local tributaries. River water is at the top of some private levees. Lowest county roads begin to flood. Parke CR 75 W begins to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 9:45 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 20.7 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:45 PM EDT Wednesday was 21.7 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to fall below flood stage Monday morning and continue falling and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood |
