| Detailed Description |
* WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE. A portion of western New York, including the following county, Monroe. * WHEN. Until 115 AM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 711 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported lingering flooding in the warned area due to earlier thunderstorms and heavy rain. Flooding is already occurring. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Rochester, Irondequoit, Chili, East Rochester, Fairport, Brighton, Gates-North Gates, Henrietta, Penfield, Scottsville, Churchville, Riga, Pittsford, Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester International Airport, Rochester General Hospital, Martin, North Chili and Garbutt. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood |
