| Detailed Description | A tropical disturbance, known as Invest 94W from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), is now listed as a Tropical Cyclone Formation Alert, meaning a tropical cyclone will likely develop in the next 24 hours. It continues to slowly intensify as it moves away from the region. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm 25W (Man-yi) was located 510 miles east of Saipan as of 8 AM ChST, Monday, November 11th. This system is moving southwest at 10 mph and is expected to cross the Marianas near Tinian and Saipan as it weakens into a tropical depression. However, periphery showers and thunderstorms associated with Invest 94W remain possible today, and we'll begin to feel the effects of a weakening Man-yi Tuesday afternoon, with the system expected to cross the region late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. This system will still bring the potential for locally heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts as it passes through our area. POTENTIAL IMPACTS: - Sustained winds 15 to 25 mph gusting to 35 mph in heavier showers and thunderstorms. Locally higher gusts to 45 mph are possible in areas of higher terrain. - Locally heavy rainfall is likely, which may cause flash flooding. - Hazardous surf and marine conditions.
