Brief Description Flood Watch
Detailed Description * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. The following area, Western Prince William Sound. This includes the cities of Whittier, Seward, And Moose Pass. * WHEN. Through Monday morning. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Periods of heavy rainfall have moved into the Eastern Kenai Peninsula this weekend with back-to-back systems. The first system dropped 1 to 2 inches of rainfall across lower elevations. Another round of heavy rainfall occurring Sunday is expected to produce a total of 2 to 3 inches of rainfall for coastal areas of the Kenai, especially close to Seward. This may result in flooding and erosion or debris transport on area creeks and streams. Snow levels are expected to rise to above 1500 ft today. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood - Storm drains should be kept clear of debris as much as possible.
