7:41 AM CDT Saturday 13 July 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: City of Winnipeg At 7:41 AM CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking an area of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, toonie to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
