| Detailed Description | 3:51 PM NDT Tuesday 28 May 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity Rain, at times heavy, is expected. Total rainfall: 30 to 40 mm, except locally 60 mm or more in areas of heaviest rain. Locations: Channel-Port aux Basques to Connaigre. Time span: tonight into Wednesday. Remarks: Thundershowers may develop over some areas, producing locally heavier rainfall. Rainfall rates could exceed 10 mm per hour at times over some locations. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Time span: this evening to early Wednesday morning. Maximum gusts: southeasterly up to 100 km/h in the Wreckhouse area. Motorists, especially in high profile vehicles, may expect hazardous driving conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds. Wreckhouse wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
