Brief Description Flash Flood Warning
Detailed Description FFWRNK The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for. Southern Wilkes County in northwestern North Carolina. * Until 945 PM EDT. * At 545 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD. Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE. Radar. IMPACT. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. North Wilkesboro. Wilkesboro. Boomer. Moravian Falls. Cricket. Fairplains. Buck. This includes the following streams and drainages. East Swan Creek, Dobbins Creek, Fish Dam Creek, Big Warrior Creek, Bussels Creek, Beaver Creek, Elk Creek, Dugger Creek, Cub Creek and Hunting Creek.
