Brief Description SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Detailed Description 4:19 PM PDT Saturday 24 August 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: North Coast - coastal sections Heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected. Where: North Coast - coastal sections. When: Tonight until Monday morning. Rainfall amounts: 60 to 80mm, nearing 100mm locally. Winds: South/Southeasterly up to 80 km/h. Remarks: A potent and moist frontal system from the Pacific is expected to bring prolonged rainfall beginning tonight. Strong winds will also develop along the exposed coastal areas of the North Coast. The heaviest rain is expected to occur Sunday afternoon into early Monday morning. Strong winds are expected to begin Sunday morning, lasting into the evening. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
