| Detailed Description | 5:47 AM NDT Tuesday 25 June 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: St. John''s and vicinity Rain, at times heavy, is expected. Locations: Northern Avalon Peninsula Additional rainfall: 40 to 60 mm Time span: until overnight tonight. Remarks: 10 to 40 mm of rain has already fallen in some areas yesterday and last night with rainfall rates of 10 to 15 mm per hour being observed at times along parts of the south coast. These heavy rainfall rates are expected to continue on and off throughout the event. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
