Rainfall amount: 40 to 50 mm. Remarks: An area of low pressure will develop over northeastern BC producing a narrow band of heavy rain. The highest rainfall amounts will occur in the vicinity of the Rocky mountains and embedded thunderstorms. The rain will begin early this evening, then ease Saturday night. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Peace River Heavy rain is expected Friday night and Saturday in the BC Peace Region. Threat: Potential rainfall of 40 to 60 mm may cause localized flooding, high streamflows and a risk of debris flows. Remarks: A narrow band of rain associated with a low pressure system tracking across BC and Alberta will bring rain, at times heavy, to northeastern BC today. Rain will begin in the afternoon and continue through Saturday afternoon. The position of the band of rain and amounts are uncertain at this time.
