Detailed Description |
Rain and snow has developed over the Northern Rockies, including Glacier Park as of Noon today. As of Noon today, snow levels are near 7000 feet, but will fall to around 5500 feet this evening and will continue to lower down to the Plains by Tuesday morning. By late Tuesday morning, expect total snow amounts to generally range from around an inch on the Plains to about 1 to 3 inches on Highway 2 over Marias Pass and on Highway 49. In Glacier Park, snow amounts of 3 to 6 inches are expected, with the 6 inch snowfalls most likely near peaks and ridge tops. Additionally, temperatures will cool down into the 30s this afternoon, and into the 20s by Tuesday morning. Wind chill values will generally be in the teens and 20s. Those who have travel plans on the east side of the Rocky Mountain front, including portions of Highway 2 from East Glacier Park to Marias Pass, Highway 49, Looking Glass Highway, from East Glacier Park to Kiowa, or traveling along Highway 89 from west of Browning to Babb, should be alert for changing road conditions, along with areas of poor visibility due to falling and blowing snow. |
