Brief Description Flood Warning
Detailed Description The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington DC has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Maryland. Georges Creek at Westernport affecting Allegany County. * WHAT. Moderate flooding is occurring. This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE. Georges Creek at Westernport. * WHEN. From this afternoon until further notice. * IMPACTS. At 12.0 feet, Numerous buildings and roads in the town of Westernport, and points upstream, are flooded. Water reaches both railroad bridges upstream of Westernport, as well as multiple bridges in Westernport. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 3:45 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 12.0 feet, or 4.0 feet above flood stage. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 3:45 PM EDT Tuesday was 12.0 feet. - Forecast. No forecast is available for this location. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. - Flood History.
