Brief Description Coastal Flood Advisory
Detailed Description * WHAT. Minor coastal flooding. Water levels 3 to 5 feet above the normal high tide line. * WHERE. Southern Seward Peninsula Coast, particularly near the Belmont Subdivision near Nome. * WHEN. Until 7 AM AKDT Monday. * IMPACTS. Localized beach erosion may occur. Loose objects may be washed away. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. Water levels are currently peaking at around 4 to 4.5 feet above the normal high tide line in Nome and 5 feet in Golovin. Water may approach yards and homes in the Belmont Subdivision near Nome, as well as the old airstrip in Golovin. Portions of the port area can expect standing water due to a combination of storm surge and elevated runoff on the Snake River. Water levels will recede tonight with a second peak around 3 feet tomorrow afternoon before nearing normal levels on Tuesday.
