4:24 AM MDT Thursday 25 July 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: R.M. of Wood Buffalo near Fort McMurray and Anzac Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms will continue today as they push northward. Although there will be quite a variation with thunderstorms, total rainfall amounts of 70 to 90 mm are likely. Local amounts may exceed 100 mm, particularly in areas that receive additional rainfall from embedded thunderstorms. Heavy rain will taper off by Saturday morning. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
