11:08 AM CST Thursday 25 July 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Buffalo Narrows and Peter Pond Lake Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorms will develop this afternoon. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe in nature. Thunderstorms will move towards the northeast before weakening this evening. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
