RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FROM SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST WYOMING INTO FAR SOUTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA. .Warm, dry, and breezy conditions will develop across the area this afternoon. High temperatures will be in the 70s to around 80 degrees, with south to southwest winds increasing to 10 to 20 mph with gusts to around 30 mph. Humidity levels will drop off to near or below 15 percent in the afternoon. These conditions, combined with dry fuels, will lead to a period of critical fire weather conditions this afternoon. The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 6 PM MDT this evening. * AFFECTED AREA. Fire Weather Zones 315 Southern Campbell, 317 Weston County Plains, 322 Fall River County Area and 326 Pine Ridge Area. * WINDS. South to southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY. As low as 13 percent. * IMPACTS. The combination of gusty winds and low relative humidity would produce critical fire weather conditions.
