Brief Description RAINFALL WARNING
Detailed Description 5:00 AM EDT Thursday 8 August 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: Pickle Lake - Cat Lake Prolonged period of rain continues today through Saturday. Hazards: Rain at times heavy. Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 75 mm, with locally higher amounts possible. Timing: Continuing today through Saturday. Discussion: A slow-moving low pressure system will produce rain, which will be heavy at times today through Saturday. Persistent rain is expected to continue into Saturday, before the system gradually exits the area. Local rainfall amounts in excess of 75 mm are possible, especially for areas that receive thunderstorms. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
