Flooding is ongoing, however as of this afternoon water levels are beginning to fall on the Skwentna River and are cresting on the Yentna River near Lake Creek. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE. Lake Creek, Yentna and Skwentna Rivers. * WHEN. Until 1245 PM AKDT Saturday. * IMPACTS. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 240 PM AKDT this afternoon, water levels are beginning to fall on the Skwentna River and are cresting on the Yentna River near Lake Creek. Water is overbank along the Yentna River with reports of widespread flooding of low lying areas and flooding of several lodges and cabins along the Yentna River and Lake Creek. Another round of moderate rainfall is expected to begin Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon with an additional 1 to 2 inches possible. River levels are expected to slowly fall through the weekend but remain high due to this additional rainfall.
