Brief Description Special Weather Statement
Detailed Description A strong storm system will bring another round of warmer weather and widespread rainfall to the Anchorage Municipality through Sunday night. Any heavy rain will likely lead to ponding of water on area roadways that could linger until storm drains are cleared of ice and snow. The widespread rain could also lead to increased streamflows, and rising water levels for area creeks and streams. Any increased streamflows could also lead to localized ice jams. Those living and recreating along area creeks and streams are encouraged to exercise caution, as water may pond around and on top of ice, leading to ice degradation and creating difficult or hazardous conditions. Motorists should exercise caution driving through puddles, as they may be deeper than they appear.
