11:13 AM EDT Tuesday 25 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Kapuskasing - Hearst - Smooth Rock Falls Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and damaging hail. Hazards: Wind gusts up to 100 km/h. Nickel to ping pong ball size hail. Risk of a tornado. Timing: This afternoon into this evening. Discussion: Very strong wind gusts and large hail are the most likely hazards. Very large hail can damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.
