7:15 PM CST Sunday 12 May 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Kindersley - Rosetown - Biggar - Wilkie - Macklin Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts. Thunderstorms in Alberta are tracking into western Saskatchewan this evening. Some of these thunderstorms may produce severe wind gusts in excess of 100 km/h. These thunderstorms will weaken later this evening. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
