| Detailed Description | 3:53 PM CST Wednesday 21 August 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Prince Albert Nat. Park At 3:53 PM CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. This thunderstorm is located 30 km south of Waskesiu Lake and is moving southeast at 10 km/h. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Thunderstorms have developed this afternoon along a slow-moving cold front. These thunderstorms will continue into the early evening hours. A few of these thunderstorms may become severe with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy downpours. Fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.
