| Detailed Description | 8:44 PM CST Thursday 25 July 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Prince Albert Nat. Park At 8:43 PM CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of dangerous thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to golf ball size hail and heavy rain. This cluster of severe thunderstorms is located 50 km west of Waskesiu and is moving towards the northeast at 70 km/h. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Very large hail can damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
