| Detailed Description | A newly formed tropical disturbance, known as JTWC's Invest 92W, is centered near 9N135E just northeast of Palau. This system appears to drift northwestward, remaining largely disorganized in nature. Even so, moderate to occasionally deep convection is associated with this feature, producing widespread heavy showers along the southern flank outwards from the center, and numerous showers developing elsewhere within the peripheries of said feature covering Palau. Multiple rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms will pass over the islands of Palau, bringing an additional 5 to 8 inches of rainfall through Sunday afternoon. Due to the disorganized nature of 92W and the irregular shower coverage in the last few days, high uncertainty remains for mudslide potential at this time. Additionally, strong gusts to around 30 mph will be possible with the heavier showers through Saturday night, with near-gale gusts more likely Sunday. Numerical model guidance indicates 92W consolidating and intensifying in the coming days, with this development more likely northwest of Palau as 92W enters the open waters of the Philippine Sea by early next week, where environmental conditions are much more favorable.
