| Detailed Description | * WHAT. Blowing snow. Visibility to one-half mile or less expected. Additional snow accumulations 2 to 4 inches. Winds gusting to 30 mph. * WHERE. Thompson Pass. * WHEN. Until 5 AM AKDT this morning. * IMPACTS. Plan on slippery road conditions and significantly reduced visibility in blowing snow. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. Visibility down to one-half mile has been observed in Valdez this morning. Southeast winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph through the passes could bring down visibility to less than one-half mile at times. Snow is expected to clear from west to east with all snow ending by 6 AM. |
