4:29 PM CDT Saturday 27 July 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: R.M. of Stanley incl. Winkler and Morden Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. A trough of low pressure is moving through Manitoba this afternoon and could initiate some thunderstorms along or ahead of it late this afternoon or this evening. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe. Watches will be expanded as the thunderstorms evolve. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
