12:18 AM MDT Sunday 14 August 2022 Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for: M.D. of Lesser Slave River near Slave Lake and Saulteaux M.D. of Lesser Slave River near Smith and Fawcett Lake At 12:18 a.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. This line of thunderstorms is located from Chisholm to Elk Point and is moving 40 km/h to the north and east. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
