| Detailed Description |
10:30 AM EST Tuesday 28 November 2023 Snow Squall Watch in effect for: Simcoe - Delhi - Norfolk Snow squalls possible today. Hazards: Local accumulations of 5 to 15 cm. Intense snowfall rates of up to 5 cm per hour at times. Very poor visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Timing: Until this evening. Discussion: Lake effect flurries and snow squalls from Lake Huron are possible today, bringing brief periods of intense snowfall. Although the snow could be heavy at times, the lake effect snow bands are expected to meander somewhat. This should limit accumulations at any given location. Strong winds gusting to 60 km/h will also occur, resulting in significantly reduced visibility at times. Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
