| Detailed Description |
10:02 PM AST Saturday 16 January 2021 Wind warning in effect for: Inverness County - Mabou and north Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. Maximum wind gusts: southeasterlies up to 90 km/h, except up to 100 km/h for Cape Breton Island Locations: the Atlantic coast of mainland Nova Scotia for Halifax and east, and Cape Breton Island Time span: overnight into Sunday morning. Remarks: An intensifying low pressure system approaching from New England will give increasingly strong southeasterly winds tonight into Sunday, with gusts reaching 90 to 100 km/h. Gusty winds can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor events. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
