11:59 AM EST Thursday 21 January 2021 Snow squall watch in effect for: Bruce Peninsula - Sauble Beach - Tobermory Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County Lake effect snow squalls are expected to develop late this afternoon. Up to 15 cm of new snowfall will be possible under these snow squalls before they move south of the area this evening. Locally heavy snow and reduced visibilities in blowing snow will make travel difficult at times. Travelers should consider changing their travel plans accordingly. Additional snow squalls will impact portions of the area again on Friday through Saturday morning. Additional snowfall amounts could exceed 20 cm through this period. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm. 8:49 AM EST Thursday 21 January 2021 Snow squall watch in effect for: Hanover - Dundalk - Southern Grey County Saugeen Shores - Kincardine - Southern Bruce County Lake effect snow squalls are expected to develop this evening. Up to 15 cm of new snowfall will be possible under these snow squalls tonight. There may be a brief break in the snow squalls late overnight before they redevelop Friday morning. The squalls are then expected to last through the day Friday before weakening Friday night. Additional significant snowfall amounts up to 15 cm will be possible again Friday for portions of the area. Travelers should consider changing their travel plans accordingly. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
