9:05 AM MST Thursday 25 February 2021 Wind warning in effect for: M.D. of Greenview near Grande Cache Botten and Amundson M.D. of Greenview near Kakwa Wildland Prov. Park and Nose Lake Willmore Wilderness Park Yellowhead Co. near Big Berland and the Wildhay River Yellowhead Co. near Hinton and Obed Lake Prov. Park Yellowhead Co. near William A. Switzer Prov. Park Strong winds, gusting up to 100 km/h will continue today. The strongest wind gusts will be in wind prone areas and will persist through the day today before easing off tonight. In Banff and Jasper National Parks, including the Icefields Parkway, snow will accompany these strong winds resulting in locally poor visibility in blowing snow. Blowing snow may also impact sections of Highway 11 west of Nordegg. Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
