Brief Description Special Weather Statement
Detailed Description Another weather disturbance will bring increasing cloud cover and wind to portions of central and particularly northern Nevada Wednesday, with increasing chances for light snow Wednesday night through Thursday. Minimal snow amounts in valleys are expected of less than one half inch at most through Thursday. A stronger weather feature will bring better chances for accumulating snow to valleys across central and northeastern Nevada Late Thursday through Friday morning as well as falling temperatures. Snow amounts of one half inch with isolated areas of 2 inches are expected. Probability of greater than 2 inches (greater than 50%) is concentrated around northern Elko county mountains, areas adjacent to the Ruby mountains and along I-80 between Elko and Wells. Since snow is expected overnight, potential for some impacts on roadways increases, particularly by Friday morning. Drier conditions return for Saturday before more light snow arrives to northern Nevada Saturday night into Sunday morning. Visit www.weather.gov/elko for the latest weather information.
