Brief Description Hydrologic Outlook
Detailed Description Near-record heavy rainfall throughout the month of September from the Twin Ports to shoreline areas of Lake County has created very moist soils. Another round of up to 2 inches of rain for this same area from Friday evening into Saturday morning may lead to enhanced runoff over those water-logged soils into area creeks and rivers along the North Shore this weekend. Expect the potential for minor backcountry flooding along the North Shore over those river basins by Saturday midday. With the potential for elevated flows on area rivers that are popular for waterfall viewing, visitors should expect slick hiking trails and be careful around rivers that will have slippery rocks, cliffs, and strong currents. The next update to this outlook is expected by 9:00 AM Friday, September 29, 2023.
