Brief Description Snow Squall Warning
Detailed Description Snow squalls are expected to continue tonight. Hazards: Total snowfall accumulations of 20 to 30 cm. Peak snowfall rates near 5 cm per hour. Significantly reduced visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow. Timing: Continuing through Sunday morning. Discussion: Snow squalls along and in the wake of a cold front will persist through the night and are expected to weaken or drift south of the area Sunday morning. Local snowfall amounts near 40 cm are possible if a snow squall locks over an area. Blowing snow is also expected in exposed areas due to westerly winds gusting up to 60 km/h. ### Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Road closures are possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
